"What is the best team you have ever been on?" "Why was it so good?" "What was done to build it? sustain it?" Good questions.

We have all been on teams - both good ones and poor ones. This hands-on workshop will provide you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build or improve your team ... and then sustain it as a High Performance Team.

Too many times teams are formed hastily and without the proper support to be successful ("Poof - you are a team now!). This workshop will:

show you what team excellence looks like
help you experience, diagnose, and resolve the breakdown points
have you assess your own team or workgroup
have you create an action plan to get there

The workshop is built around a puzzle that depicts all the required components of High Performance Teams and how they need to be aligned and reinforcing of customers (internal or external). Through several exercises you will experience the need for these key components and what happens to the team when they are not present (or poorly done).

Questions to ask yourself about your team or workgroup include:

Do we know why we exist and what we are supposed to produce?
Do we know how that will be measured when we get there?
Is team or individual behavior measured?
Is team or individual behavior rewarded?
How well do we really know our customer(s) and their needs/wants?

Although best done "in-house" for existing teams within the same organization, the workshop can be delivered in a public venue for people from multiple organizations. Participants will leave having completed as a self-assessment for their team, defining what success looks like for their team, and creating a practical, specific action plan to get there. As a closure exercise, participants practice the conversation that they will have with executives/managers telling them about the health/effectiveness of their team and what additional support the team needs to be successful.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jeff Parks - formerly the Director of Training and Performance Improvement for the U.S. Coast Guard. Jeff is an Executive Coach who is also certified in Strategic Change Management. To learn more about this workshop, Bill Forster at (703) 323-3447.
