New students must apply for admission to the College
prior to registering for classes. Click here for the Application
for Admission. If you prefer, you may fill out the application online
at https://apply.vccs.edu/app/app.htm.

taken classes at NVCC, you will need to submit a new application to update
your records before attempting to register.)

Use our website to select courses, and complete the registration and
payment process online.

Application for Admission: If you have never taken a credit or
non-credit class at Northern Virginia Community College, you must first
complete the VCCS
Application for Admission. In this process, you will be assigned a
number that will function as your Student ID for all future transactions
with the college. There are two ways to complete this application. You
may fill out the application online at http://www.nvcc.edu,
or if you prefer, you can complete the application
form and submit it to the Continuing Education Office in CE 202. In
either case, this must be done before registering for any CE class. If
you mail an application to our office, please confirm the processing of
your application before attempting to register on the Web.
Registration: Registration is continuous from December
1st throughout the Spring Semester. To avoid being inconvenienced,
register and pay for your course as soon as possible prior to the start
of the class you wish to take. Registering early may also prevent the
disappointment of a cancelled or closed class.
Web Registration: You may register for most Continuing Education
classes on the web. This requires the use of your Student ID. If you do
not know your ID number, go to http://www.nvcc.edu,
click on the NovaConnect button (upper right), and follow the directions
under For Students, Find My ID/Password. Once you have your Student ID
you can go directly to the Annandale Campus Continuing Education website, http://www.nvcc.edu/annandale/continuing,
click on Spring 2006 under Continuing Education Classes and then click
on the course title of your choice. You may register for that course by
filling out the form linked to this site. When submitted, the form will
be processed by CE Office Staff and your credit card payment information
will be sent directly to the Annandale Campus Business Office. Your birth
date will be used for registration purposes only.
To register in person, by mail, fax or telephone, see
the directions above.
Payment
Payment for Continuing Education courses is
due at the time of registration. If you attend a class without paying
you will be held financially responsible for the tuition. Payment can
be made by using your credit card on the Web or by paying with check or
cash at the Annandale Campus Business Office during their regular hours
of operation. They are located in CG 220. Their normal business hours
are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They can be reached at (703) 323-3132.
If this is inconvenient for you, you may also mail in a check with your
registration form or leave your payment with the Continuing Education
Staff, and we will transfer it to the Business Office for processing.
Cash payments require exact change.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis
and remains open until the class maximum is met. In the event a class
is completely full, contact the CE Office at (703) 323-3168 for assistance.
Students are not allowed to audit or sit in classes for which they have
not paid.
Questions About Classes
If you have questions about Continuing Education classes,
please call us at (703) 323-3168 or TDD# (703) 323-3744, before you register.
Third Party Payment
If a student's tuition is to be
paid by a third party (employer, government agency, foreign embassy, etc.),
the student must submit a letter of authorization or purchase order from
the third party at the time of registration, with the understanding that
the student accepts responsibility for full payment of the tuition if
the third party does not. This information may be submitted in person,
by mail or by fax. A student may not register using one form of payment
and then switch to third party payment for that class at a later date.
Refunds and Cancelled Classes
You will receive prompt notification of course changes
and cancellations by telephone. Please make sure that we have up-to-date
contact information for you in our system. In the unlikely event that
your course is cancelled, you will automatically receive a full refund. If you are unable to attend a course that has not been cancelled, you
are eligible to receive a full refund only if you call our office a minimum
of 4 days before the starting date of the first scheduled class meeting. There will be no refund after this time. Refunds for payments made in
person using cash or check will be processed through Richmond. A check
will be sent to your mailing address within four to six weeks. Refunds
for credit card payments made over the web should appear on your credit
card statement.
Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities
Northern Virginia Community College is committed to
providing an accessible education and a supportive learning environment
for all students. Students with disabilities who require accommodation
for equal access to Continuing Education courses must register with a
Disability Services Counselor in CG 211 and provide current documentation.
Refer to the Services For Students With Disabilities booklet (available
in CG 211) for more information.
Senior Citizens' Registration
Residents of Virginia who are 60 years of age or older
are welcome to participate tuition-free in most non-credit courses, on
a space-available basis as determined by the College. Such students are
limited to three courses per semester including any credit course(s) that
they may be auditing. Senior Citizens must apply to the college (if they
have never taken a course here) and come in person to the Continuing Education
Office to present proof of age and fill out a Senior Citizen Certification
of Eligibility for Free Tuition form. Once the necessary paperwork has
been submitted, seniors must call (703) 323-3168 one working day before
the class meets to determine if space is available. In courses with limited
space and large demand, the order in which telephone calls are received
on that day determines admission to the course. To guarantee a place in
a class, payment is required. A senior who has already made payment for
a particular course may not reverse that registration to free tuition
at a later time.
Parking and Room Location
All students attending classes on the Annandale Campus
must now pay for parking. CE students will have the choice of paying $1/hr.
(cash only - enter on the lower level of the parking garage), or purchasing a
semester permit for $55.00. The permit allows you to park in any of the
Student (B) Lots on campus. If you wish to purchase a semester parking
permit, you can do so using the College website, https://parking.nvcc.edu,
or purchase it directly from the Parking Services Office in CG 226. If
you have questions, Parking Services can be reached at (703) 323-4267.
Parking permits are not required for the Center for Employee Development
(CED).
To find the building and room number of your class,
please consult the maps located on page , or call our office at (703)
323-3168. A location of "CED" means that your class will be
held at the Center for Employee Development,
7630 Little River Tnpk., 5th or 6th floor, Annandale, VA. The phone number
for that site is (703) 323-3102. Click here for the CED map.
